Fiance' Visa
Hi All,
I am trying to find out if when filing the petition for the Fiance' Visa if a copy of my fiance's divorce is ok. He went to his courthouse and they made a copy and put a stamp on it. I want to be sure that we have the correct document. He is from England and the copies that he was given are exceptable for anything he does there. They did tell him that there is another copy he can get but it would cost 25 pound each. I prsume this is the copy we need.
If anybody has any insight PLEASE let me know.
Thank You
Jody

Re: Fiance' Visa
Hi Jody..
Ok.. I would suggest he gets as many copies of he Decree Absolute as he will
need.. I got 3 copies from the Main Courthouses involved.
The cost was £1 per copy.. This was in Birmingham.
£25 is very excessive. Sounds like someone is being ripped off there.
These were stamped copies..
Even a copy of the Marriage certificate is only £6.50 as is a copy of the
Birth Certificate.. I suggest he gets 3 copies of each.
At the interview in London, he will need an original and a copy unless he
wants to give the embassy the original. He will need more than one copy of
his Birth cert , not only for INS, but also for some job and service
applications in the US. . Worth getting them while he is here.
