Fatbrit
A very sad time indeed for his family and also a huge loss for this community.
To my mind he was a very astute, intelligent and extremely witty poster and one who always made an objective response to many issues he was absolutely passionate about.
We will all miss his humour and his erudite postings.

Re: Fatbrit
I've been asked about Charities that people may want to donate to in David's name, and so I asked Kari (Davids wife) who suggested "In the US, The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. In the UK, AMMF ..."
Kari has the link to this thread so will be able to read the messages posted here, and should anyone wish to email her directly please PM me and I will pass along her email address, she would love to read your memories of him.

I feared the worst as soon as I saw the thread title, that and him not being on here for a little while now.
I think many of us will miss his many and varied contributions. A man of wide knowledge and strong conviction, he seemed often to be able to cut through so many issue to the heart of the matter.

He gave me (and many others) good advice when we were considering buying our home. Of course over the years, we've had our differences. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. Like many others, he made BE whatever it is.

I never even knew he was sick. My deepest sympathies to his wife and loved ones. He always came across as knowledgeable, and I enjoyed his sense of humor many times. His contributions and personality will be sorely missed.
