Sheila and I have a dogsitter who comes to our house (she has a key), brings in the mail and paper, feeds the dogs, plays with them (they don't need a walk because we have a doggie door and a huge fenced play area (larger than our house!)) and we pay her $15 each visit. She makes 2 visits per day! It has worked out really well for us and the dogs adore her! Makes it much easier on everyone! If we go away for a week (5-7 days) it costs us between $150 and $210. Now that is a bargain!

I thought I had a great dog sitter too. She came 4 times a day and charged about $20 per visit. We used her for several years then we noticed odds and ends kept disappearing. Her excuse was 'oh my son broke it so I took it home...I intended to get it repaired but forgot' etc. If her kids 8 and 10 were home she brought them with her. Another excuse was 'I made myself a cup of coffee to go....I forgot to bring the mug/s back'. The final straw was spag boll splattered all over my cook top...'The kids were hungry....'

She obviously thought you'd never notice with it being in the kitchen.
