electrical sewing machines

Re: electrical sewing machines
For a sewing machine, it just isn't worth the weight it would cost either way....and if it's something that hasn't been used in 8 years, it's likely not to be used much in the future to warrant the cost.

I wouldn't bring anything that hasn't been out of the box in 8 years, what are the chances of it coming out in the next 8?

Re: electrical sewing machines
Since it is 8 years old already, and it might not even been a brand spanking new model when it came out, then I'd agree that it is unlikely. Prices seem to have dropped a lot on them in just the last five years in the US, so I bet that a better one can be had for less than half what she'd paid for that one in the UK.

i bought my singer over (shipping was paid by company so not an issue) and i used a step up transformer on it. Its wasnt a very good machine though and its now gathering dust in the basement while i merrily use the new husqevana one i got here thats a gazillion times better for similar money.
the step up transformer worked but it was a pain with all the cords everywhere.
