As it happens, I'm getting a curry fix at a local Indian eatery. Oh joy!

I went to an "English Tea Room" a few weekend ago, on the menu they had Sausage butties; Cornish pasties and even Chip Butties. Bliss.

And they do fantastic cornish pasties...though they serve them with worchester sauce rather than ketchup, whihch I thought odd...and they also have lovely sausage rolls...and then other things depends on the day.

Yes it does come in a big chunk (not that big though that'd you'd have to freeze it...cheese goes quick in this house) - which I like for cutting big slices but I don't think its as good as Crackerbarrel Vermont Extra Sharp available in any supermarket- that's the nearest cheese I've found to British. It's sold in those small packs unfortunately but its much better than Cabot.

I'm heading back to Blighty at the end of next week, so a good curry might in in order.
GOTTA have the curry so I make it myself.I use recipes in Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cookery and The Curry Club Indian Restaurant Cookbook. I found a good Asian Food store for the spices, which I grind and blend myself. The bhoona process is the most time consuming part, so I usually I make a huge amount (since I'm taking the time) and freeze the leftovers.
It does the trick for me.
