My American Girlfriend did the best thing in the world ... ever ... last christmas :)
It was my first xmas away from family, and she had managed to pull together the full recipe for a sunday roast ... yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, veggies, gravy (ahhh, bisto!). It was the best christmas gift :) Since then, I've introduced her to the joys of deep fat frying chips (she still won't use the fryer though), gravy on everything that stands still long enough and flavoured crisps :D |

branston pickle and cheese sarnies...lovely, yet they think it's weird...but nothing wrong with using a big slug of a pickle *l*
oh, and cheese toasties...hardly ever see a decent one, all fried...hmmm...they certainly lack the student meals over here don't they :) |

You will never find a genuine haggis in the US because the FDA has some problems with offal-based ingredients. However, you can get a haggis-making kit from some company in Canada, which I did, and it turned out just like the real thing. Of course, trying to get my American pals to eat it was another battle, but I think I've converted a few of them!

Which US sausages do you guys get for the proper fry up ?
Those Jimmy Dean ones are just so tiny compared to the big fat juicy English ones ! I miss having a decent curry house nearby. Fri night take out curry was always a treat back in UK..... |
