Time to start looking for employment, as my EAD has finally been approved! :D

Never thought I'd be this happy to have to get off my arse and find a job. :)

Congratulations! :D And good luck job hunting, too! What sort of thing are you looking for?

I worked as a shift manager in digital printing for the Cambridge University. Looking to get into something similar at Arizona State University. Should have an application in with them sometime today.

Congrats, Pimpbot! It is a great feeling to get the EAD! Opens up a lot more opportunities.

You may already know this, but do be aware that a some jobs, especially in my field (IT/tech) require a Green Card or US Citizenship. That used to rule out a lot of jobs for me - I interviewed with Southwest Airlines a couple of years back and thought I had the job, only to be told that they couldn't hire me cos I didn't have a GC and the EAD wasn't enough! That made me mad as hell, mainly because they didn't tell me that up front.

Good luck!

My original NOA for the EAD was october 23rd. I then had my biometrics done on the 8th of november. I then received an RFE around january 12th, because they claimed I hadnt provided any evidence that I had been the benificary of an immigrant visa. Checking back I had indeed sent the I-129F NOA2 in with all the other AOS stuff, so I guess it was over looked?. Anyway, sent that back and they claimed to have received it on the 26th of january. I then sat here going on 40 plus days before we found a fax number through the 1-800 number on the USCIS website for the local Phoenix office. Faxed them my details on monday asking them what was going on? and then yesterday the online status had been changed to approved and my card is on the way.

Thanks for the heads up Pilgrim. I've checked the ASU website and it looks ok for just the EAD to work.

My online status still says they sent me my receipt about processing and hasn't changed even after my biometrics appointment.

These guys sure move fast

It will not change until its either approved or they've sent you an RFE. I remember asking that question after my biometrics in the marriage based forum.

Cool, thanks for that.

I was getting worried as I had two receipts for biometrics. One was for the EAD the other was for Adjustment Of Status. I did both on the same day.

The Adjustment of Status record says my fingerprints were received but the other hasn't changed so I guess I should just sit tight.
