EAD finally here!!!
Time to start looking for employment, as my EAD has finally been approved! :D
Never thought I'd be this happy to have to get off my arse and find a job. :) |
Congratulations and happy job-hunting!! :D
|
Good God!! http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/sick-faint.gif You actually got it! Congrats, I'm pleased for you.
|
Congratulations! :D And good luck job hunting, too! What sort of thing are you looking for?
|
I worked as a shift manager in digital printing for the Cambridge University. Looking to get into something similar at Arizona State University. Should have an application in with them sometime today.

Congrats, Pimpbot! It is a great feeling to get the EAD! Opens up a lot more opportunities.
You may already know this, but do be aware that a some jobs, especially in my field (IT/tech) require a Green Card or US Citizenship. That used to rule out a lot of jobs for me - I interviewed with Southwest Airlines a couple of years back and thought I had the job, only to be told that they couldn't hire me cos I didn't have a GC and the EAD wasn't enough! That made me mad as hell, mainly because they didn't tell me that up front. Good luck! p22 |
Well done old son..... you beat my record of 6 months sitting on my nose picking my arse by a mile:D
Now you can join us in having zero to F-all in paid holiday time and having the privilage of starting on the first run of the ladder again;) |
Congrats Pimpbot, just take one more moment to appreciate being unoccupied...Regis and Kelly, The View, Oprah, Dr. Phil, Changing Rooms, Changing Rooms, Changing Rooms....zzzzzzzzzzzz

My online status still says they sent me my receipt about processing and hasn't changed even after my biometrics appointment.
These guys sure move fast  |

Cool, thanks for that.
I was getting worried as I had two receipts for biometrics. One was for the EAD the other was for Adjustment Of Status. I did both on the same day. The Adjustment of Status record says my fingerprints were received but the other hasn't changed so I guess I should just sit tight. |
Just to follow up for rincewind.
After being approved last week on the 14th and the online status changing to the card will be sent once completed. Its now changed to the following...This case has been approved. On March 22, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283. |
I checked my status again today.
My EAD one says: Your I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION was received on December 16, 2003. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. My Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust says: On January 30, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made. This is kind of scary as the EAD one remains the same as it always has. I hope these guys haven't screwed me up else I'm going to have to fly back to England and get a job. |
Everyting appears to be normal in your EAD online status. Just get ready to visit your local office for a walk in EAD if you pass 90 days from your biometrics.
|
A little confused here - as I just got my EAD from Des Moines last thursday. There was no need to have any biometrics done for my EAD - just a notice to come in and have a photo done and a single fingerprint done on an ink pad for the actual card and 2 minutes later I had the EAD.
Biometrics will need to be done for my AOS however and I am still waiting for them to schedule a date for that. Why did you all need biometrics done for your EAD Card ? ~Sean ps- I went through the K1 visa process. Originally posted by Pimpbot Everyting appears to be normal in your EAD online status. Not sure why you never had to do Biometrics?. How long from filling AOS did you get your EAD?. Maybe Des Moines does things slightly different?. But its the first I've heard of anything like this recently.
|
Applied for AOS, EAD and Advanced Parole on January 21 and received my EAD on March 25 and Advanced parole on March 22.
As I said still waiting on an AOS Biometrics date. ~Sean Originally posted by Pimpbot Not sure why you never had to do Biometrics?. How long from filling AOS did you get your EAD?. Maybe Des Moines does things slightly different?. But its the first I've heard of anything like this recently. |
