Re: Eaarthquake!
Funnily enough I used that joke on a friend after last night's quake. My theory for the warm weather today was friction heat!
I was watching a channel last night, can't remember which one, had a news helicopter flying over Disneyland and the answer to a question "are people leaving" took about 5 minutes to give an answer (no - patently obvious from the TV images). Even the studio host seemed to be getting bored.

Re: Earthquake!
No complaints - but strange thing is we didn't feel a thing where I live - was amazed to read about it Sat. morning. Our turn next?

Re: Eaarthquake!
Guy I work with had a couple of water mains on his street go (he's in Fullerton) and a bunch of pictures fly off the walls in his house. Seems to be quite a bit of damage for "just" a 5.1.
Seems everyone's a bit concerned this one could damage central LA as the fault goes towards downtown and gets shallow near that end, which is where most of the energy would end up.
