Don't know if anyone notices, but region NTSC discs have a slightly better picture when played on a PAL TV but PAL discs have a slightly worse picture on an NTSC TV.

There [/i]is[/i] no PAL/NTSC issue - a DVD is a DVD is a DVD, with only region codes to get in the way of watching a British DVD on a NTSC TV in America.
PAL And NTSC have different frame and cycle rates, therefore without conversion you will not be able to see the picture if you are watching a PAL DVD or VHS on an NTSC TV, or vice versa. Some TV's do it for you, some DVD and VHS playes do it for you, some you have to convert yourself.

Don't know if you are still looking for a DVD player. I got a multi - region one from http://www.world-import.com and it works like a dream. Best DVD player i have ever bought. Only took them 2 days to deliver it aswel.

Well worth a look!! All my UK dvd's work on it without a problem.

I have been busy watching Father Ted, Fawlty Towers, Royale Family and Blackadder since i got it!!!

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it?
Cheers for the info.

I still think http://www.hkflix.com/hardware/
is a good place to get a good selection of region free players. $139-$800+
