Hmmm I appear to be the only person on here who's bed's, duvet's and duvet covers appear to be the same sizes for UK and US....
The beds we brought from the UK are exactly the same size as the beds here: Single = Twin Double = Full King = Queen Super King = King The bedding we bought is the same, my bed has a UK M&S Super kingsize duvet cover on a US bought Kingsize duvet! My son's UK single bed has all US bedding on it (Cars 2 of course ;) ). We bought our daughters Queen size bed's when we arrived and we use UK kingsize bedding on them! Did we just happen to be REALLY lucky? Although before we came we researched and the bed sizes matched up as above.... :sneaky: As for buying bedding we have bought bits and bobs from most mentioned although some charge outrageous prices! Vicki http://www.csgnetwork.com/bedsizes.html |

IKEA. We bought duvet covers from there and used them with UK bought Duvets.
I give 10/10 for my ikea duvet covers  |
Re: Duvet Covers
You can order online from Ikea in US, check the measurements carefully - I find them same as UK, just in different names in US. If you only order bedsheets, duvet covers, they should come in parcels, the postage to upstate NY should be around $20.
Another alternative that I like is to order online from MUJI, the Japanese store, they have stores in Manhattan, but they run a online store as well. they have really comfortable cotton and jersey beddings and duvet covers. |
Re: Duvet Covers
Thanks for all these replies. I have lots to think about. All my sheets are muddled after the move, it will take days to sort them out. Some we bought when we lived here previously, some IKEA UK, some normal UK, all very confusing. Great tips, thanks everyone. Now I want to put a smiley face but can't find them. How do I do that?

Not quite the same...it's the fitted sheets that make the difference.

Re: Duvet Covers
My vote would be Pottery Barn, really gorgeous and high quality stuff. I looked on the Next website and there wasn't a whole lot of choices.

http://www.csgnetwork.com/bedsizes.html Does anyone know where to buy cotton comforters that aren't going to break the bank?! They are easier to wash and we don't have to worry so much about the warmth factor being in Florida! Everything seems to be polyester (too sweaty!) or cost $100's  |

AHA thanks! :) Maybe when we checked we thought they were close enough?! As for fitted sheets we haven't so far had any problems fitting US ones to our UK beds and the UK ones we have fit the queen beds we bought... obviously been very lucky so far but will definitely be wary if/when we need to buy more.

Re: Duvet Covers
Yeah Target has some, but you have to look carefully as they look like sheets.
Ikea definitely has duvet covers though, I know this for a fact because I bought one by mistake once haha |
Re: Duvet Covers
I have gotten very good quality duvet covers from Overstock.
