In this case, it seems that all three will be acquired simultaneously (British born citizen father, German citizen mother, born on USA territory).

That's what I meant - that the costs of passports (if any) is totally independent of the cost of a consular birth certificate.

There's a cost to register the birth, there is a separate cost to get the certificate, you don't need the certificate if you want to save some cash, plus you can always get a copy when in the UK for cheaper just like any other birth certificate.

I don't know about know, but they did get in a thither about males, if they didn't do national service at 18 in the past, same for Austria.
