They're just pretty lights that flash on and off for the average 'mercan, aren't they? Same as traffic lights, they just change colour, that's all they do.

You are still very much a "learner".

What I wanted to know, and i've searched the internet to no avail, is..... can I apply for and take my US driving license whilst over there, so I will at least be able to drive whilst I am out there??????

Thanks in advance!
Its a piece of cake, the US test, after all the rednecks are driving about, so it can't be hard

Your so right! Driving down 75 yesterday you had to overtake in the right lanes as dummys were going less than speed limit in the left, no indicators to change lanes (although they use them in turn only lanes). 4 rows of trucks all passing each other at an inch a minite, no wonder drivers in this country are a joke. Ive driven in China and they drive better than most Americans.........go figure.

I don't know what driving instrucors do here ? ... Apart from telling everyone to drive in the middle lane on highways and disregard all the chaos going on around and behind them as they travel at exactly on or well below the speed limit and take no notice whatsoever that trucks ar slamming on the brakes and swerving around them ..... or they tell them to always stop halfway round a roundabout incase soneone is comming up a side road ...... or sit for 30 seconds at a f**kin stop sign even though they can see each way for about 3 f**kin miles and nothing is comming ....... Or stop at the end of an on ramp to an interstate .................. AGAIN ... causing total chaos
