Default Driving licence in Florida.

I have recently married in Florida (originally from the UK) and I am confused about the drivers licence applications. The DMV states that I have to get a FL state licence 30 days after establishing 'residence', I am assuming that getting married qualifies as establishing residence!
When applying for a licence it also states that all documents must be valid for at least 30 days from the date of issue....my I-94 is not...it expires now on the 7th march, and I am of course in the throes of filing my AOS paperwork. Can I use a marriage certificate?? Or do i have to wait for the INS to supply me with an alien number or something before I can even apply???

*totally confused*

All help appreciated
