I put on a stone or more after the first few months. For me I think the main reason was comfort eating because I felt so miserable.

[QUOTE=Rete;8926097]I'm confused what do you consider healthy? For me it is a dinner of chicken or pork or fish, fresh veggie and perhaps rice pilaf or some type of potato. QUOTE]

Problem I have is that even when ordering something that looks healthy on the menu, if I forget to ask them, by the time it arrvies at the table some little sod of a sous-chef has reverted to default mode of slathering a perfectly healthy meal with great gobs of butter. Or cheese. Or both.... I'm sure they must be bonused on the basis of average calories per plate dispensed.....

Portion size control is easy if I go with the wife, we often order 1 main course and split it. Or add a starter if the dogs gonna get lucky. Problem comes if I eat alone....willpower needs company!

Yes, you have to be very careful otherwise you just slip into that mode of automatically cleaning your plate at restaurants. I usually end up taking loads home for lunch the next day. The wife and I occasionally get it right by ordering appetizers only or sharing entrees. But it takes a conscious effort.

Sugar and a lot of oil and also chemicals which make you addicted. And you should avoid all those all-you-can-eat buffets. Lost about 30 lb over three yrs after leaving the US, the fattest nation in the world.

My wife and I were in Gander Mountain on Saturday & I was looking at the display of jeans. I noticed that at least 80% of the pairs of jeans on the display were 36 inch waist and larger.. very few 30s and 32s. I'm sure that twenty or thirty years ago, 32 or 34 was the average size and they had plenty of 28s and 30s.. possibly the average age of people buying jeans has gone up during that period, but even then it is a dramatic difference.

You could play "esc" for hours though.. the colours come out different depending on when you press esc.. keep track of your score, and before you know where you are, going home time

In the Carolina's it's hotdogs with chilly everywhere you go! We hate them so steer clear but the alternatives are usually burgers or pulled pork BBQ so either way it's all bad for you, full of calories and about the only thing on offer wherever you go!
