Default Doctors in Rio de Janeiro for K-1 exam?

Does anyone have the names and contact info for the
consulate-approved doctors in Rio de Janeiro for the K-1 interview examination?
So, I could go ahead and try to get the exams done in order to speed up the process a bit.

I appreciate any response,

Regards,

If you only had gone to their website, you could have located the list here:
http://www.consulado-americano-rio.o...dy/listmed.pdf (pdf file, requires
adobe acrobat reader software ) Alvena

See the Doc Steen site here:

is not immigration advice. The information I provide is mostly gleaned from old
newsgroup posts and visa links on the internet. If you want or need a lawyer, go to:

ComicValentine & Alvena, I am in the same situation, trying to get everything in
advance for my rio fiance. I went to the site and the medical file I downloaded did
not have the Rio sites, only other states, I spoke with someone at the consulates
office and he said he would e-mail me the Rio DR's list. Also, when I tried to
download Package 3, the PDF file froze up, perhaps someone else has it and we could
e-mail it to eachother. ComicValentine--have you received your approval letter? Did
you send your info to Vermont? Also, from what I understand you can get the
vaccines at your local doctor and it might be cheaper, the only thing is, I am not
sure exactly which ones they want you to get. Please keep us updated, I will do the
same. Ramona

Ramona,

I too am waiting the approval. I tried to download the forms online and it didn't work. I found some approved-doctors info and I called to one of them and got some info. The fee (physical exam) costs about R$ 180. The blood test (about R$ 30) and the X-ray (about R$ 70) are made at the lab and they accept Brazilian insurance (this is a good new).
I am sending the doctor's contact info I have found:

DR. GARRIDO, Aurélio (Post Medical Advisor)
Av. Ataulfo de Paiva 135/9th floor Room 904, Leblon
Tels.: 274-8641 (O), CELLULAR: 9982-3937/FAX: 512-2479, 239-0642 (R)
Office hours: Tues. & Fri.: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

I will call to the other doctors and I will let you know about the fees.

The vaccination requirements info you can find at:
http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_web...iv/vaccine.htm

Since I don't have my vaccination record anymore, I am about to take all these vaccines again. I do believe that it will be cheaper to take those at my doctor.

Regards,
