Do I need to file taxes?
I know you guys aren't CPAs but I figured some may have experienced this.
Considering I moved to the states end of Oct last year and haven't worked over here yet, is there any requirement for me to file taxes (for the 2017 year)?
I can't see why I would need too.

The answer is probably not.
You may still find it beneficial to still file as MFJ and elect to be treated as a resident.
