DirecTV
I have just signed up for a house and have started looking into TV, internet suppliers etc. So my first brush was with DirecTV:
Internet Offer $35/month with FREE HD DVR + 3 HD Receivers
Discussion - You don't qualify for free equipment and you have no credit
Outcome: $61/month and $300 up front for HD DVR and 2 Standard receivers
I think you have to be from Mars to qualify! I even offered to pay the full year up front. Still didn't get the deal. Is this the integrity level I will have to get used to? Corporate Responsibility is not their strong point. Its either that or the far less polished Service Elec

Re: DirecTV
Why would one a TV supplier? Once you've got the Internet, you've got all the TV worth watching.

Re: DirecTV
Without credit history, you're likely to expect that with everyone.
Though depending on where you're living, satellite is shit anyway....especially as a internet supplier.

Re: DirecTV
Its just funny that they want to sting you even when you're offering to pay up front. Why would they need a credit check for something thats already paid for?! You can't beat the system I guess. Frickin expensive though, $300 plus $61/month internet and $60/month for 3MBps internet - ouch!
