Not at all. Admittedly, that was my reaction when I read your first post, but your second put it into perspective. (And I asked you the question afterall, not the other way around.)
America's definitely not perfect, no place is, and much of what you said I agree with. Your directness just surprised me. Hey - I just learned my father's name is slang for something that can be flushed down a toilet. Who knew?

I get the impression that once we have fulfilled your need for input you might just show up again from time to time because you are secretly enjoying this.

Yes, I think you're right - which is why I thought I'd better check! It's natural to miss foods from home ... I lived in Luxembourg for six months and was so happy to receive peanut butter of all things from home. We could certainly stand to have less sugar in everything here - it is possible to find bread without added sugar, but it's not easy, nor is it cheap!
Bloody poison ....one sandwich ...and I was in hospital with Salmonella
Peter Pan..... poison

When I lived in Luxembourg I didn't have access to a kitchen and grew tired of eating out all of the time. All I could afford was Italian food (I still don't understand why all of the reasonable restaurants there were Italian) so peanut butter on a baguette was a nice change of pace.
