We rent and live in an apartment complex using Rentpayment to pay monthly and they give you the option to report to credit agencies which we opted into. This has what has built up my credit score since being here (Almost 2 years now)

Thanks for letting me know, I pay direct to my landlord so that won't show on my credit rating. I did originally pay through an online payment service but the landlord didn't like that it took 6 days or so to get to him.

I use http://cozy.co for my rent collection. With that service I can choose to pay $2.99 a month to have ACH payments clear in 3 business days. Might be worth speaking to your landlord. Not sure if you think it is worth paying $3 a month to build up rent history. I choose the 5 day free option because I'm cheap. I essentially use the deposit monies to pay the mortgage and then that money is back in the account in a day or so.

Cozy reports rent collection to Experian.

Cozy is the one I was using, and the service he complained about. I could pay $3 a month but now with my auto loan, credit card and other lines of credit I intend to get I think that will be enough. Thanks though.

the other option would have been to pay a couple of days earlier, but I guess he can't force people to do that.

I landed in the US on 6th June 2017 and immediately got an unsecured credit card from Bank of America and have been using that for everything since, being careful to not go over 30% of my $2,000 limit.

I've just registered with Credit Karma and I'm at 704 which after roughly 7 weeks I'm quite pleased with.

Had a good email today with discover giving me back my deposit and un-securing my card. It took me to a 750 fico credit score in 7-8 months.
