Hi Everybody,

Has anyone had their CIMA ( Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Professional Qualification assessed for the purpose of immigration to the USA?

If so, what was the outcome?

I am trying to establish whether is CIMA is the equivalent to a US Masters...

In the US, a Master's degree is generally considered to be 36 hours (usually 2 years full-time, or 3 years part-time) of post-Bachelor study. I'm sure someone will be along soon to help you better.

Cannot help with the specifics but I would advise you to stay clear of the many Credential Evaluation services on offer in the US. In general they are a self created industry and should only be used when absolutely necessary e.g., a future employer states they are needed.

I would try contacting the major Accounting Associations in the US and the state you are interested in. Perhaps you own organization has contacts in the US that they can direct you toward?
