Just heard about this on the radio, surprised not to have seen mention of it here. Basically a secret program to vet citizenship applications and deny them on flimsy grounds such as of association to muslim organizations, charitable donations to muslim groups, visiting certain countries, mosques etc. You can see the connection.

Apparently there was a brief flurry of news about it a couple of months ago. e.g.

Now that ISIS is front page news every day, and there are valid concerns about the risks associated with ISIS fighters returning to their homes in western countries, I don't think additional scrutiny of applications for citizenship is necessarily a bad thing.
