Default Contacting Wasington Embassy...

Anyone able to give any tips for contacting the Washington embassy ?

Sent in our daughters birth registration and passport applications, and got our documentation back saying we'd missed out something we believe we had sent in. So, I go to britainusa.com in the hopes of finding out how to clarify the story, only to find no (obvious) way of making email contact, and, further, that:
All passport telephone inquiries are handled by our outsource partner ABTRAN. Please call 1-900 285 7277. Hours of operation: Weekdays from 08.30-20.30 Eastern Standard Time. Calls cost $2.10 per minute.
To which my reaction was, predictably, :scared:

That's a pity. When I applied for my UK passport renewal a couple of years ago, the phones were still answered by live UK Embassy staff.

Looks like American style capitalism or summat's swept through the UK Embassy...

It's the same when you call the US embassy in London. I found the staff there really good ie they were like, "i know this call is expensive so I'm going to talk really quickly"
