Anecdotally, most of the cabbies I've talked to are not the biggest fans of congestion charging. While they'll say it is *slightly* better in the zone, the border areas have become a bit of a nightmare as drivers suddenly do u-turns and other crazy things trying to stay out of the charged area. They actually told me if I ever need to hail a cab, 2 blocks inside the zone is a heck of a lot easier than 2 blocks outside the zone.

Aye, that's the thing, it's a fine line and something that needs to be considered, but overall, it's not a bad idea in principle, even if in execution it isn't the best, because those who are not in highly paid jobs who need a motor, like service industry people will probably feel most of the brunt as it is.

I hope that next time a Brit diplomat goes through a toll road, he refuses to pay the toll tax.

I have to laugh at this carbon footprint nonsense. Either that, or slit my throat.

Carbon dioxide makes up .03% of the atmosphere. Emissions resulting from human activity are 1/30th of that. All of our evil cars and planes are putting out a whopping 0.001 of the gases in the atmosphere.

Suck it ignorant hippies.

On the plus side, the ignorant sheep people behind the Live Earth concerts have got Spinal Tap playing. Which should go to 11.

I'll be licking my love pump in anticipation.
