One is dumped at Filton. Been there years, the runway has since been removed. You can see it on google street view from here:

SCG (Save Concorde Group) attempted to raise the funds to have it removed from Filton beforehand. They failed.

I was working in Lewisham the day they retired them, we all went out onto the roof and watched them fly over on their way to LHR.

I flew on the French one. From Doncaster to Paris - Charles de Gaulle would you believe.

Still have all the stuff you got. Leather pouch, postcard of Concorde. Don't know why I kept it.

I'm a big guy and didn't find it too cramped. No more so than flying first class in the nose of a BA 747 which is my prefered mode of transatlantic travel these days. :thumbsup:

There is an excellent branch of the Imperial War Museum for aircraft at Duxford (adjacent to the M11 motorway between Stansted airport and the city of Cambridge). We used to take our children when they were little.

They have one of the prototypes of Concorde and you can go inside it.

My son who works at Airbus in Filton, Bristol has his office window overlooking the Concord there

I used to be stationed at Brize Norton worked very close to the runway. When it was in development Concorde would come in constantly doing circuits and bumps. It was an amazing site. I'm still not sure if a Vulcan wasn't noisier though!

Oh and apparently because of it, we also didn't have mobile phone reception on campus because it had some sort of landing beacon on one of the building roofs, so you could only get reception on the bog in a particular corner building :/

I remember seeing an Air France Concorde carrying the French President leaving Muscat. I was working with some Dutch blokes at the time, and I remember one of them saying " Look at that flash bastard go! He must have left his oven on..." Not quite sure what he meant, but it stuck with me. That was in 1992, and I remember also the bloody racket it made! Loud but lovely!
