Choosing a car, suggestions for snow!
We're moving to Connecticut in about 4 weeks!! we've been offered the chance to buy a car and order it before we arrive, question is do we go for a saloon/hatchback or do we get a small SUV like a VW Tiguan or a Nissan Rogue to cope with the snow we will get in the winter?
Any help will be appreciated, have searched the forum but nothing is apparent so far!.

Volvo.
Or Subaru.
Those are the official Oregon vehicles, but they'll get you anywhere.

The *only* thing an SUV gives you is ground clearance. I wouldn't buy the Tiguan - and I'm a VW owner.

I bought a 4Runner in December, and I love it. I should have bought one years ago.

We don't live in CT, but we can walk there in 20 minutes from our house!
When we moved over 5 years ago we bough a Jeep Grand Cherokee - not just for the 4WD in the winter but also because it was big and you can fit a lot of stuff into it (garden waste to the dump, shite from Ikea, hordes of visitors and their suitcases). Also Mrs tonrob felt it was safe - we'd borrowed a similar model from work which she managed to smash into a car. The other vehicle was a right mess but the Jeep hardly dented. From that moment on it was decided...

Another vote for Subaru. (but they can be expensive to repair)

I've been happy with our Subaru as well, so one vote more for them.

Sorry to Hijack the thread, but im moving to Minnesota and I want a car.. but I want a tiny car.. I know this is America and tiny cars don't really exist but I would like a small car that is going to handle "Minnesnowta". I drive a KA but I'm pretty sure they dont even exist out in the states..
