Default Childs UK passport renewal in UK

As I will be heading back to the UK in a month or two for a business trip, I am planning on renewing my sons UK passport in the UK, as it is about half the cost of doing it here in the US. Has anyone ever done this, or got any advice?

Cheers, MH

Doesn't it say on the renewal application that the child has to be in the country when you are doing the renewal?
I remember reading that somewhere.

It woult probably take longer to get it done in the UK, and then you would have the expense of shipping from the UK to the US.

I think that you're better off just doing it in the US, mine only took 5 days for processing.

Jim.

Yes I think the child has to be in the UK when you do it (although I aren't sure). Call the UK passport line based in the UK and they will tell you.

For passport advice any day of the week, call 0300 222 0000 between 7.00am and 11.00pm.

Obviously that is British Time!.
