When I'm elected president of the world, cheese will be outlawed.

Drat... caught out by meauxna's super moderator super powers. I was sure 3000 posts would be enough of a cover.

I'll be targeting single-issue voters. The campaign will be epic.

How about Haloumi?

I remember that being available in almost any supermarket in UK - now I can't see it anywhere (unless I want to shell out an arm and a leg on the t'internet)

I buy it at Acme groceries where I live and when at the in laws have bought it at Schnucks in MO.

Stop & Shop here in Westchester NY also sells the Irish Butter along with the cheeses mentioned above.

Meijer & DW carry quite a few English cheeses however they are EXPENSIVE, hubby and I like Apple Wood but it is something like $13 per pound! $5 for imported cheese is a good price.

Been trying to find it for nearly 5 years. I loved that I could have it on the bbq as I dont eat meat and it grills so well. even tried the Greek specialty shops no luck so far.

The Cheese Haus in Frankenmuth does some lovely cheese. Their 11 year old Chedder is great if your willing to pay $12.99 for 1/2 pound of it.

Someone once told me that the difference in Greek food is because in the US it's mainland Greece, whereas in the UK we get Greek Cypriot food.

This is probably old news but I thought I would share as I just found this out yesterday. Sam's Club carry some imported cheese, I bought a block of 'Dubliner' for just over $5 per pound. They also had some Stilton w/berries too.

The Dubliner went down a treat with some Branston Pickle.

I actually went to the library once and got a book on making cheese...and guess what...after much grinding of teeth, weeks of preperation and studying...eh voila...I found it to be way too much work, I returned the book and went to Costco and bought their cheese...:))
