Default Check/ cheque uk to usa

Need to send $1000 check to USA for deposit on business. If offer not accepted then check not cashed. What is cheapest, quickest way to get this to them? I have asked if it can be done by paypal no reply yet.

Courier service.

If you transfer it electronically...bank to bank it takes 1 to 2 business days...you may not get it back.

Do I have to get my bank in uk to write me a cheque in dollars? Then send that? Perhaps I could send travellers cheque if cheaper?

There are many ways to transfer money - you really do have to ask the recipient for a list of payment methods they will accept. So far you have just stated one - a check - and unless you have a US dollar account you will need to buy a US dollar bank draft from your UK bank and mail/courier that.

There is a contract to sign, I have visited owner and business and have CPA looking over business. Seems deposit is common to demonstrate commitment to offer and due diligence.
Thanks for concern!

Last time I used a travellers check, You had to sign once when you 'bought' them and sign & date when you use them for the to be covered for theft etc so that probably would not be an option for you.

Shouldn't you be using an escrow service for this in case it doesn't work out?

That would be the common thing, rather than handing over a wedge of cash which you might not get back if it does to pot...
