Smile Channel 5 Documentary...

Hi people , i have been approached by channel 5 over an e-mail i sent, regarding a programme they doing.

"Leaving For Love", about people like me leaving UK for the sake of love in the USA.

My question is they not willing to pay anything for me being in the show!.
I was willing to do the show ie.... filmed my final week in Blighty then filmed for my first week in Michigan with my new love.

Am i being petty or tight not wanting to do it now as we're not getting anything from it?...... or not?....
Any opinions please!!! Cheers!

Any Karma would be nice too!...

If you come across well on TV you might get your own mini-series or multi-million dollar endorsement deal - expecting cash is a bit much imo

I had forgotten about them, we swapped emails a while back.

I would have thought they would have a flat rate for that sort of thing, after all you may not be a member of EQUITY but they will sell the program and make money off you.

Think the whole issue with this type of TV show now is that there are plenty of attention seekers out there willing to do it for free just to get their face on the TV. So I doubt you will get offered any money at all for it even if you refuse to do it otherwise - not a question of being petty/tight, more about about how much you want to be on TV and deal with all the good/bad that goes along with that?

Personally, I'd rather not (had a second hand 'reality tv' experience a few years ago and hated it!)- but if it's your thing then it could be quite good fun.

What they might do is cover your expenses - and you might get away with including your air fare over to the US?

Good luck whatever you decide!
