Hi:
Silly question. In taking a trip to the UK, and wanting to exchange cash, is it best to exchange dollars for pounds at the airport in the US or upon arrival in the UK?
Is the rate better either way? Thanks for your help.

Its better to change it over there. I don't like carrying a bunch of cash and am not too keen on paying their commissions either so the last couple of times I just got cash from the ATMs.

You will both get better rates than if you use brokers.
in the UK £1 will get you $1.93
The other way around £1 will get you $1.99
Sell your $ at $=$1.96 and you both win
