Default Cell phone problems

From all that I've read and checked, I can't figure out why we're not getting data on our new MintSims.

Phone is HTC One A9s and MintSim is a T-mobile MVNO. Calls and texts are fine, only gets an E signal. It's like it can't find 4G? I've used the settings on the website, used the settings customer service gave me. Is there something on the phone itself I need to tweak??

Any advice?

This usually means a communications error... especially if you're paying for 4G service. Power down the phone completely, wait a few minutes, and power it back on again. That has always solved the issue whenever I've found myself on E signal only communications.

Where exactly are you using the phone? T-mobile 4G coverage is pretty good but there are places where it is patchy or non-existent.

Wot 'e said.

When you have a weak signal you may get "E signal" on your phone We often get little or no signal indoors, and despite the flimsiness of American houses, being indoors can attenuate cell phone signals to the point where the phone is pretty much useless inside, especially of you live out in, or beyond, the burbs and away from major highways.

The coverage map is showing great coverage. It's been more than 24 hours since activating the SIM and we've been several places with still no LTE signal, so hence why I'm wondering if there's an issue with them being UK phones? Even though willmyphonework.net or whatever it is says they are fine.

I had a similar issue last winter. I knew it hsd to be something with my phone settings since my daughters sitting next to me were getting full service.

Try this page and try resetting stuff.

Or simply put the phone in airplane mode for 30 seconds or so. That's usually enough to force it to reconnect to the network.

I may be wrong but you may not be receiving 4g due to the different Lte Bands in the US vs in the UK. Tmobile uses bands 2, 4 and 12.

Looking at the bands that the HTC uk version supports they don't support those bands. You will still probably receive 3g but not 4g LTE.

You may need to get a new phone to use 4g. Best buy do some good unlocked cheap phones. I have a moto g4 which works well on tmobile and only cost about $170.

Thanks. It looks like from HTC UK website that the phone does support those bands? Tech support have been totally unhelpful. Really didn't want to have to shell out for 2 new phones but it's looking that way .
