does it matter what degree? I have a good old Bsc in Export Engineering (weird i know) and wondered if i would beed to study for something more relevant to the IT career i usually follow.

Great thing there is that you can actually tick that box - the normal question that is asked is "State your level of Education". Whether it's relevant or not. May be that the requirements of the position specify what type of degree you need, but for a more general type position, or if you have tons of experience in your usual field, that tick means you have one less thing to worry about.
