Car Shipping
Hi everybody,
I am now close to moving to Palm Beach to work as a Physician.
I have been trying to do some research regarding shipping my car from the UK to the USA. I have a new BMW, and don't really want to sell it.
Has anyone tried to do this? Is it difficult? does anyone have any ideas where I can get any information about this?
I don't know if its more hassle than its worth
thanks

You might change your mind unless you get it matriculated.
Its a sod driving a right hand drive on the right side of the road, just a thought.

Sell it.
Unless it's a classic car, it's not worth it...plus warranty etc won't be worth anything, it'll be worthless selling it over here and insurance will be through the roof having a import with the steering wheel on the wrong side of the dash.

The following web site seems to cover all the salient points, with government website links regarding emissions and safety, both of which the vehicle either has to be marked by the manufacturer as complying or have to be modified and certified by approved specialists

Nonconforming vehicles entering the United States must be brought into compliance, exported, or destroyed.
