Default Can you do your own ADIT photos?

Hello all...

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on creating your own ADIT-style photos for the I-129 Petition for the K1. We're not sure exactly where to go get these photos taken (we're both in VA at the moment) and were thinking, "Hey, why can't WE just take them ourselves??"

Thanks in advance...

You can always be the guinea pigs ;-) However, look for any photo place that does passport photos. Virginia is a progressive state and many posters are from that area and might be able to give you exact names and addresses. However, a quick look in the yellow pages of your phone book might do the trick. I know that Costco and Sam's Clubs do them as does Wal-Mart and most one-hour photo stores.

They are so easy to get done, and not at all expensive. Kinkos might do it,
any place that does passport photos can do it. Or try a photography shop.
Have you seen the specifications? I think it would be more trouble to do it
yourself, even if you can!

Go to a professional. INS can sometimes be extremely picky
with passport photos.

Take care........I did them once in a Post Office. They
warned me but I took the risk. They were rejected.

Does this exclude the photo boothes we have in the UK? Most of them say
Passport approved.. Or will I have to find a photographer. I noticed that my
fiancées US passport photo is considerably larger than then the UK one.
I have taken , with a high res digital camera, the 3/4 face photos that
measure up to the specs I did find once but I have mislaid this spec sheet..
If anyone has a link to it, I would appreciate it.

Thanks, everyone, for your ideas and suggestions. I suppose I was unsure about where to get them done, because whenever I've gone to get passport photos taken, the people taking them never seem to know what they're doing.

I had considered going to the DMV -- I think I read once that they can do them there -- but after reading Steggy's response about the post office, I've decided against it. Instead, we will try to get them done at a photo place, like Moto Foto or the like. I'm hoping that by bringing the specs along, they should be able to figure it out. (Fingers crossed!!)

BTW, Mark and I just got officially engaged -- the ring and everything -- woohoo!! He wanted to ask me in person, and after a wonderful 3-weeks already, we have another week before he goes home next Monday (SOB!). I only mention this because we're hoping to get the I-129 ready before he goes back to England, so we might be popping on here a bit this week with various questions!!

Thanks again, everyone!!
