Actually it looked like you were right with 12v. Most of the sets I saw online were running 12v, except these German Marklin sets that are 16v I think.

Marklin make (made?) AC and DC. A lot now are DCC which is usually about 18v.

I am slowly but surely educating the staff at PDX to the great British hobby of plane spotting. When I have finished that project I will start with Tri-Met and bus spotting.

A chap has to occupy himself somehow.
