When filing my H1-B visa I had to show enough work experience with a gradual progression in work status that would be considered equivalent to a bachelors degree.
I think it was 4 years work for every I year of degree.

It's more typical for H1-B applicants to have that Bachelor's degree.

That information is readily available on the internet.
You can not move to the USA and then get a job.
You have to get a job offer (with valid visa sponsership) in the USA before you can immigate.
Requirement to check: Level of education, field of experience, years of experience, criminal background.

Finding someone to sponsor you, well that's a different proposition entirely...it took me three years and literally thousands of cold-call resumes before I got an offer..and I've been in IT for 21 years and was a freelance consultant in the UK, a position generally regarded as being the top 5% in IT.
Sorry, but that's the way it is.
Good luck with your quest anyway...

Should also point out that getting employment authorization for more than one of you (in the family) is going to be close to impossible.
The crowd here is not trying to kill your dreams - they're just trying to prevent you from unnecessarily starting a nightmare. Go to www.bcis.gov and you can look at all of the possibilities. Basically before you buy a plane ticket you need a job offer where the employer does the immigration paperwork (you cannot do it yourself, even with the help of a lawyer unless you have a Nobel Prize stuffed in your back pocket). The paperwork also needs (realistically) to be filed in Oct/early Nov of any given callendar year. So I wouldn't be turning in your resignation any time soon.

the fees were less than a thousand but the us/foreign entity was a complex setup and lawyers fees mounted (mainly my companies fault)
the lawyer was very good and did everything thouroughly - and the process once all the info was in pace took about 5 weeks from filing the petition to receiving the visa in the post (after the interview of course)
i would have rather paid this than gone through the crap of requests for evidence etc
Don't just think of the headine figure, also consider the opportunity costs - i.e. moving sooner to a place with a cheaper cost of living and lower taxes
