Hiyah,
Can anyone recommend any decent calling cards? I've been using 7-11 so far and getting almost 4 or something hours for 20$ which is the best I've seen. Just moved to Charlotte NC and they dont have 7-11 here!.
Today I got ripped off totally, paid 20$ for what I was told was almost 3 hours in K-Mart and actually got 20 mins!!!
Thanks
Jo

) plus a small monthly servicing fee (75¢, I think). At that rate $20 will get you almost eight hours to the UK spread over two months.

Then, I discovered onesuite.com from an article from Kiplingers (a financial magazine). Since then, that's all I use for overseas calls and long distance (in the US).
Last time I checked, it's 3.9c p/min to the UK and only 2.9c p/min long distance in the US.
The website is www.onesuite.com. You sign up there and put credit onto your account with a credit card. There's no joining fee and no additional costs other than the calltime. It's kind of like "pay as you go" for mobile phones but for landlines.
I recommend onesuite.com most highly.

While in the US, for on-the-go usage including payphones, try one of the calling cards they sell at Walmart. It isn't THE cheapest but it isn't bad either. Also check out onetel. We used onetel (which is now owned by Centrica in the UK) to call the US for 3p a minute, and I think they have a Los Angeles office.
To call the US, we use a UK-based service called Telediscount for 2p/min, and their access number for calls to the US is 08444 620620.

I used to use pincity.com
It was either 3 or 4 cents a minute to England. Sometimes the connection wasn't great, but better than paying a lot for a regular calling card

Yes definately you should give www.onesuite.com a try they're only 2.5c a minute to UK now and no other charges - I charged $10 about 6 weeks ago and still got some credit left!!!!

I use 1010-987. It's 3c per minute + 39c connection fee to UK. No monthly charges and nothing to sign up for. Probably isn't the VERY cheapest but it's so convenient and the call quality is crystal clear. Charge just comes though on your local phone bill.
One thing to watch out for - often the rate you are quoted doesn't apply to cell phones overseas. With a lot of the plans cell phones in the UK can be as much as 49c per minute. I call a lot of cell phones, there is no extra charge with 1010-987

I use bigzoo.com and get the best rates around. Calling from US to UK land line is 2.4 cents a minute if you use the local access numbers (which are explained on the website and 22.4 cents to a UK mobile phone. Feel free to put in "skinbop" as your refferal! Thanks!

Straight Talk = 5cents per a minute with no connection charge.
Usage rounded off to the nearest minute.
You got to use a 1-800 number + a pin-code to access it.
90% reliable. The cheapness makes up for the other 10%
