Default C2 & C3 NIC's, Old Pension/New Pension Transistion

I'm currently paying C2 NIC's, will be retirement age (65) July 2016 so will be switched from old pension to new pension April 2016.

Will I become ineligible to pay C2 NIC's April 2016? Can I pay C3 NIC's for April/May/June possibly July and if so would it be worth it? (C2NIC £2.80/wk, C3NIC £14.10/wk)

In Feb 2013 I bought back 6 years and since then have paid C2NIC's, but may be missing some years when eligible in the UK 1966~1985 (they said I only had 16 years when I applied for C2NIC's in Feb 2013), as well as missing NIC's for 1986~2008 (wish I'd have know about C2 NIC's back in 1985).

The question is, can I buy back any 19866~1985 or 1986~2008 years using C3 NIC's?

Edit:
It looks like C2NIC's will be abolished April 2015 and C3NIC's will take there place. Is that correct? If so that probably takes care of my first question.

I have just been invoiced for Class 2 NICs for 2015-2016. I do not know when the abolition of Class 2 will become effective, though I suspect this will be the last year I am invoiced for Class 2.

It seems logical to expect C2NIC's, if they are to be abolished, it would be April 2016 at the transition from old pension to new pension.

That is interesting that they have invoiced you in advance, in reading through one of their online docs they specifically state that NIC's are collected in arrears, in my case, where I pay monthly, it's 3 months in arrears.

I am going to call them, hopefully this week and see what the C2/C3 status changes will be as well as finding out if I have any missing contributions during my time in the UK that I are eligible to be bought back with C2/C3 NIC's.

Just had a conversation with DWP and was told that at present C2 NIC's will not be going away so there should be no change and I will continue to pay C2 NIC's until my retirement age arrives in July 2016.

Class 2 NICs aren't going away, but they're proposed that non-residents employed abroad pay Class 3 - is that what you asked?

Self-employed people in the UK pay Class 2.

If that's the case then it's only going to be for 3 or 4 months so not anything that will drain my remaining UK funds.
