Brits urged to avoid travel to Ft. Myers, FL
Just came across this on Yahoo! News and thought since many of you live in Florida, you might find this amusing:
Brits Urged to Avoid Travel to Fla Town
FORT MYERS, Fla. - School officials in southwest Florida said terrorism concerns led them to keep a high school band from marching in a London parade, but now angry British officials are telling travelers that Fort Myers is no safe haven, either.

Perhaps they ought to stay in their homes, in the closet, with tin foil hats on, armed with a yard brush.

If you want to express your views to the superintendent, his email address is:
[email protected]
A google search indicates this guy has quite an "interesting" track record.

A friend wouldn't even entertain the thought of letting her son who is a senior, do a gap year overseas, because it was 'too dangerous'.

His attitude is why Brits should avoid going to Florida.
But they go in droves anyway, alas. My ex-fiance'll be there at the end of April, if you see him, give him a big kick in the nuts for me, ta!

Let me know when. Might be just the right time of the month for it

Yes, yes -- I know, Natalie Holloway and all that. But the superintendent said they couldn't go due to TERRORISM concerns, not because the students might do something stupid. The question is, would he have also said no if the parade was in NYC, site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks? Or in DC, another site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks?

Southerners can be xenophobic to the point of revulsion. That dude'll be getting an earful of email from me. Depriving young people of viewing the world .... bastard. Of course, when Miss Holloway DID leave these safe hallowed shores, she chose a nearby Caribbean tourist trap.

I have decided to ban the two girls (4 and 6) from going on a Spring Break trip to Florida in retaliation.
Especially bearing in mind the promiscous behaviour you see reported on the News.
PS Has anybody got those DVD's they advertise on late night TV.

Hmmm. I feel so much safer here in the US, knowing Jack Bower's out there saving the day.

"Carol Still, Gregg Kasten, Daniel Stewart, Haley Olsen, Gurtej Walha, Katherine Herman, Mrs. Flores, Holly
Parham, Cayla Nimmo and Kevin Coleman attended the Columbia Scholastic Press Association newspaper and
yearbook convention at Columbia University March 16-17."
So apparently trips to New York are ok, but not to London because they blow up trains there.
