British Beef is coming
Us Uk Trade Deal
In a win for both nations, we have agreed new reciprocal market access on beef with UK farmers given a tariff free quota for 13,000 metric tonnes. There will be no weakening of UK food standards on imports. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/l...steel-industry Pasties, Bovrll and hopefully Melton Mowbray Pork Pies |

Good luck actually finding any - 13,000MT is 0.1% of the US beef market.

Is it going to be high-end, expensive mail-order? In which case, easy to identify? I assume a high proportion of the US beef market is ground beef and other anonymous meat products.

Does the agreement also cover mutton? Curious if I could import a McSweens haggis under the deal?

Aha I see the Times reported MacSweens recently reformulated the recipe to replace sheep lung with sheep heart to meet US import guidelines https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/25/d...rns-night.html
But the Guardian report it won’t be available until 2026 https://www.theguardian.com/food/2025/jan/18/scotland-haggis-maker-macsween-us-rules |
