I did in fact say Sarasota specifically. My only point is that the Telegraph author in this article:

calls Sarasota "the South" while in fact Sarasota is about as Southern as New York City.

You need to say two englishmen murdered in sarasota....machine gunned down by a black teenager....perhaps a hate crime......the art college is right beside this housing project,too blame them for being in the wrong neighborhood and that they(tourist's)should know the area,is a pathetic response to an awful tourist murder......

I cant understand why two supposedely educated men , out on the piss , end up in THE HOOD at 3 A.M. ? ok , drugs ? possibly ? kidnap..NO WAY ..something stinks here to me , lets see what happens now the video footage of the last bar they were in is looked at , the two blondes looked respectable enough , did they come outside and get into it with a brother ? its all assumption . The thing is , the southern states , below the MASON DIXON LINE , are pretty much still in the same segregated state they were in the old days , the HOODS the HOOD , you dont go there , they dont go to white areas , i lived in Dawsonville GA , for a while , it summed it up to me when my family and i went to the annual town parade , 37000 people , ALL WHITE ! America and its gov needs to address the issue instead of sweeping it under the carpet , the divide between black and white is there and always will be . RIP the two lads who died .

I remember back in the early '80s arriving at LAX around midnight on a flight from the UK. A British couple from the plane were making enquiries about hiring a car from the airport. They hadn't been to the US before and wouldn't accept advice that perhaps it wasn't the best idea to be driving around LA after midnight when you have no idea where you are going.

In the south, and you're black, you know that your white friends are really your friends. Up north if you're black you're never sure about your 'white friends' really being your friends.
