I'm withdrawing some cash and mattress stuffing.
Only half joking.

There won't be another vote in the House today as many members are already leaving; it's Rosh Hashana tomorrow (Jewish holiday).

The Dow's subsequently on its ass too - I think at the moment it is actually lower than when Bush first took over.

Are we witnessing 'Black Friday' all over again? The Dow is down over 700pts! I think I will seriously get some cash (at least a few hundred) out of our account tonight.
I really didn't want this plan to go through either, but the reality is pretty damn scary.

Not bored - more annoyed.
Anyway - was going to dabble in some UK stocks this morning. Decided against it as the more I read about the bailout the more I doubted the ability of any same person to actually vote in favour of it.
Expect the FTSE to take a bit of a tanking first thing tomorrow, then I'll wade in.

About the time I heard the news about the plan being rejected, there was an advisory on the radio that part of the freeway over the river is closed because the police were trying to talk a jumper down. Connection? I don't know. It's also Monday.
And there were reports that three major European banks have nearly failed. One was a "Belgian-Dutch" bank (Fortis).... don't know who the others are. Bradford and Bingley perhaps for one.

This is a carefully orchestrated plan being put in place by the CFR, the Trilateralists and the Bilderbergers.
This is it folks. The New World Order is here. No nations, one currency, a ruling elite, no civil liberties. This is how freedom dies...
(Listening to Debbie Gibson and Rage Against the Machine, which accounts for my mood).
