Personally, I prefer the later model:
Also a bit of a bugger to parallel, but you don't tend to get pulled over much.

You talked your husband out of buying a German made vehicle (has to be either Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz or Volkswagen) and talked him into buying a US made Ford???? He'll live to regret that mistake. Once you've gotten use to German cars anything else is second best....except a US Ford....thats a last resort.

Bloody interfering women!!

get the tranny flushed regularly then, especially in the cold as the trannies aren't that solid and cost a bomb to replace.

As Rushy so gently put it , its Judge Dredd; of 80's comic book fame.
I changed it for Sally who posted a bigger version yesterday, bless her cotton socks.
I'm having a "mid-life avatar crisis" at the moment and cannot decide wether to go with something funny, grim or neutral.

I've had a few Fords (first being an Anglia), a couple of rice burners, a Jeep, two MG's and a thumping gurt Chrysler. We just bought a VW Jetta this year, one year old, and it is mint, gem, brill (& other old terms).

After a month, we were still finding features in it (allways make a point of not reading the owners manuals - its more fun that way).

Conclusion:
OK, so they can't finish a war! They can make good cars, though.

But you might want to keep a healthy supply of power window switches, power mirror switches, sunroof stripping, door handles, and front air dams, as Mexican Jettas seem to lose these on a regular basis.

Red...yuck...I don't like red cars. Never had one...never will. Mines more of a burgundy red. I prefer black but hubby says they get dirty too quickly.

Did I say his car was made in the US.....no. Men...honestly they're always wrong.

Never wanted 'ticket me red' either. Your hubby is right - I have a black car which is ridiculous in NM. Hot as an oven in summer, as well as too much sand, dirt and flying rocks, not to mention that you can't wash your own car in Santa Fe. Does look great when it's clean though - key tool is a random orbit polisher.
