Default Bono lunches at the White house..

Can anyone tell me what the hell Bono knows about politics? (and while we're at it what does Bush know?) I hate it when these so called 'celebrities' start being pretentious by hob nobbing with politicians and getting on their soap boxes, stick to what you do best - singing, acting and looking pretty.

I like U2 but I've lost a lot of respect for Bono now.

Don't know, maybe he thinks he can do some good. I think too many things are FUBAR, but I guess he's an optimist.

Yep, he's right in there with Dubbya. He played a while back, didn't he, when the Clinton library was opened in Little Rock. I guess he thinks he can do some good, but chances are, our man George is doing a bit of a crafty reverse on him - thinking "If Bono is seen to be my mate, all his fans will love me too!"

Bono has done a lot over the years to raise money and bring attention to AIDS and poverty in Africa. If he uses his celebrity to bend the President's ear about these causes I think he should be commended, not criticized. It's Bush who should be criticized for being a complete hypocrite. Why meet with Bono? He's not going to do anything to help those people.

quite agree. I think its a shame when people are attacked for trying to do good things for nations that cant speak up for themselves. Because of Bob Geldoff and Bono their are millions of people in this world taking notice of issues that the media have in the large part ignored. We shouldn't put people in boxes only allowing them to do what we think they should be doing.
