I needed my Strathclyde University transcripts in order to start a new job.
Ordered and paid for them online and waited two weeks.

They arrived today and they have my birth date of record incorrect.

Not only that...they've stated I received a Bachelor of ARTS. In Physics!

(This goes hand in hand with my naturalization ceremony. I picked up my certificate of citizenship and it stated that I was female! I'm not. The bureaucrats claimed I must have filled in the form incorrectly!)

Count yourself lucky - Manchester University took more than 2 months to send me a transcript. By that stage I'd missed the deadline for applying that academic year.

Customer service as a concept is alien to universities as far as I can see.

At least they didn't lose your transcripts like mine- another Scottish institution- Glasgow Caledonian.

My beloved also went to Strathclyde and his degree is Chem.Eng. Shall warn him that it may translate to macrame if they don't get the right docs sorted. Mind you, he did his stuff when they were still using the slide rule.

Update:

I contacted them by email and I had to send a pic of my drivers licence to verify my birth date.
In addition when I inquired if they even had such a weird qualification as a Bachelor of Arts in Physics they said no, they don't.

In my case it is Sheffield Hallam...who have written to say that they can confirm I was a student there but have no records of the courses, marks, etc. Absolutely terrific bit of record keeping.

Well, since they confirm I was there and admit they have no further records, I guess they can't flat out deny anything, so I may as well make that a Doctorate!

Might as well as been, has a post grad 2 yr diploma (now a masters) with no transcripts is about as good as 2 yrs at a playgroup but more expensive!

What was it in the 90's? Glasgow Caledonian. What it was before that I have no idea. Looking it up it was amalgamation of Queen's College Glasgow and Glasgow polytechnic who merged in 1993 to become GC. I got my diploma in 1994. Trouble is the course I was doing, art therapy, was based in Edinburgh but accredited by GC and funded by the European Union. That course then move to Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh in 1997.

History now but I was pretty pissed off, even writing to the Secretary of State for Education in Scotland. Apparently university degrees are nothing to do with them,

Not surprised you were annoyed.
There has been a glut of new "universities" popping up in the Central Belt over the last 10 years and I wonder how many of them can be sustainable when you look at the duplication of courses
