Big Apple here we come!
Well next week we pack up and leave Texas to take up residence in a Manhattan apartment near Central Park. A bigger change is difficult to imagine and while sad to leave the lone star state the excitment of city life beckons.

Good luck (just bring earplugs so you can sleep through the infernal racket of horns - why do drivers have to sit on their horns in NY

((((Shout)))) Are you having a housewarming party?
Partystar who posts on the boards is visiting NYC at the end of Jan.....perhaps we could all meet up eh? Would be happy to pass on some ideas to you - but what are your interests? Is it just you and spouse/partner or do you have children?
Although living in the metro area (NJ suburbs) I often go on the short journey into the city, especially on Fridays - I meet up with my Brit spouse as he works in Times Square and we spend the evening in Manhatten.....I got into the habit of going for cocktails or the odd beer or two during the hot Summer evenings and still haven't kicked the habit LOL! In fact we will be spending tomorrow in NYC - it's apparently going to be a balmy 68f which is amazing for this time of year.

Thanks for all your comments! We are really excited now, although the house is starting to look a bit bare as we give bulky things away in an attempt to downsize!!
Will post again when we get up there - and would love to meet up for drinks with anyone around - crazy about that weather its hotter than Dallas at the moment and thats just not right!!
