Yeah, I haven't quite figured out the whole 'custom' thing, other than new build homes. Custom new builds seem nice inside, but they're just big housing estates, no trees or character. And where we live, they're too big (and consequently too expensive).

When we find the right house, we'll have to pick brains on where to go to fit it out. We've fitted bathrooms before, and hubby would rather chew his own arm off than pay anyone to do it!!

Just Google something like "plumbing showrooms" in your area. Or, if find a brand you like, call the manufacturer directly and they'll give you a list of authorized dealers in your area.

Yes she'll have no problem finding good quality stuff here. It's mostly European though

See, I quite like these. I don't know why but when you have a bunch of one dollar bills, it feels like you have more money than you actually do. Something that's good for the morale after the air-con/heating/healthcare costs come out.

Something I don't like about the States is asking for chips and your food coming back with a load of crisps on the side of the plate.
