Best courier service to renew passport

Hi,

I am in the process of renewing my British passport and need to send it to Washington.

What is the best courier service to use? US Post, FedEx, UPS?

Just want it to be safe as possible.

I sent mine by USPS, delivery confirmation, and return receipt. Spending more money doesn't make it more safe... just more expensive!
