BBC1 + BBC2 Streaming Again

This isn't shown anywhere on the BBC site but their multicast system is up and running again.

They are streaming BBC1 and BBC2

http://support.bbc.co.uk/multicast/rams/uni/bbc1.ram
http://support.bbc.co.uk/multicast/rams/uni/bbc2.ram
http://support.bbc.co.uk/multicast/rams/uni/bbc4.ram (starts at 7pm)

You might need a proxy to watch if you are outside the UK.
I'm sure someone will post instructions if they are needed

Working for me without Proxy in Florida Don't know how long it will last though

How do you about accessing these sites through a proxy? Could you offer some tips?

Cheers,

search for proxys..been explained a few times on this site....and google...

the jist, find a proxy address that is UK based, stick that in the realplayer for proxy address and it'll feed through that, but for video streams, tends to be a bit shite as free proxy sites tend to be slow.

Those links time out for me, but it doesn't really matter, plenty to get and easy, radio one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/listen/ for instance...got a program, vTuner that finds and compiles online radio broadcasts, can search for genre etc, or just search for a station, it's pretty handy...

That's fantastic, thanks. I am just watching some programme with Graham Norton about dancing and oh my god my brother's friend is one of the dancers. I called my Mum to tell her and she is watching the same programme but they are about 3 seconds ahead. The programme is crap but I'm so glad I can watch BBC TV.

By the way I got it using Realplayer.

they killed off another site that was streaming some beeb stuff, so who knows...but then there was talks that the beeb might have some shows for download a week after they aired, most likely to try and stop uploaders...but even if they did charge, it might be worth payng all the same, depends how much people would be willing to pay just to download stuff, I'd be up for a small fee, anything to large and sod it though...

Karmaworthy indeed - on its way.

However, when I just tried it out what do I find? Eastenders, snooker, and bloody Keeping up appearances. Suddenly US TV doesn't seem so bad.

RECORDING - any way to record ?

I guess it does not work with Windows Media player. I'm going to try and install real player on my PDA and get British TV on the go. No reason - except I'm a crazy geek ;)

Enjoy it while you can once they realise we have found the link I think they will kill it.

I tend to agree that the TV hasn't improved whilst we have been away.

There are two or three programs that can record real media stuff...

I wouldn't get real media player though, much better to get Real Alt, it basically is a hacked version that doesnt' come with all the shite that you don't need...

Feed died here....has really sketchy most of the day when I was trying it though, worked for a chunk of the snooker though, but then didn't work much after one of the breaks, and then started working for the antiques road show, only got good sound, visual was really poop....but oh well :)
Fun while it lasted...hope it comes back.

Seems to be very on and off. I'd gladly pay for this though. I think the beeb are missing out on a great oportunity.

Dunno if I've done a good or bad thing, but I just emailed the Beeb with your great idea of being prepared to pay for this. Maybe if more of us do it, it might have some impact...

Err...realplayer is free....if you want C4 on real player, have to install it as if your puter were in the UK with UK address....if you want to use real player without all the shite, then look for and get Real Alt.
